TWO DAY BASIC SKILLS CLINICS*This clinic is intended for those new to the sport, having no experience with a fly fishing rod. Your introduction to fly angling skills on moving water will entail:

ONE-DAY CLINICS*: Unlike the Two-Day Basic Skills Clinics; these “hosted” outings are unstructured and free-flowing intended to provide insights and nuances of various techniques used to successfully dupe a trout. The emphasis is “catch & release” and the use of barbless hooks…regardless of regulations.  The quarry will be Rainbows and Browns. Both clinics will be on the “Wild Trout” waters of the Truckee and/or Little Truckee rivers. Optimum conditions will determine the venues. Anglers in these clinics are beyond a novice stage minimally with the ability to cast 25’ accurately.

2016 GUIDE FEES**

Full-Day------1 angler/2 anglers---------$350/$400

Full-days are 8-10 hours. Fee includes flies, leaders, sandwich-lunch, fruits, snacks, beverages and all gear as needed. There are no hidden charges The client provides a current California fishing license.

Half-Day-----1 angler/2 anglers---------$280/$330

“Half-days”, industry-wise, generally implies 4-5 hours. Frank’s “half-days” are a misnomer because they are a minimum of 5 hours; more like 6-7 hours!. Snacks and water are provided; no sandwiches. A cooler is available for use in Frank’s vehicle. The client provides a current California fishing license.

Deposit & Cancellation Policy

Reservations require a 50% deposit; personal checks (send to Thy Rod & Staff,  POBox 10038, Truckee, CA 96162)  and PayPal accepted. Balance due upon completion of guide date or clinic. Upon receipt of deposit you will receive a written or e-mailed confirmation and a liability waiver statement which must be signed prior to booking. If notice of cancellation is received 31 days prior to booking, 50% of deposit will be refunded. Subject to availability, the full deposit will be applied to a future date in the same calendar year. Cancellation within 30 days will result in forfeit of deposit. If I must cancel, a full refund will be given.
