This
blog will replace my Truckee
Fly Angling Update.
Yeah, I know...it is about time!! It will not be restricted to just
objective fishing reports; it will include my perspective about
flyfishing for trout...sort of my "bully pulpit". Additionally, there
will be a varied mix of
humor, images & opinions about angling conservation
and my
personal pet peeves. The latter two with which you may agree or
not.
I
encourage participation.
My only request is...please...
keep it civil; honoring the
hackneyed cliche of "agreeing to disagree".
the
famous...
Truckee
Fly Angling Update Here are some unsolicited comments I received by e-mail:
...became
too
tedious to maintain &
refresh; although I did appreciate its e-list of readers & the
fun
comunications we had.
"...nothing like doing without to realize the worth of your updates
(during computer breakdown in late August, 2000)"
"...I find your Update helpful for fly selection,
hatch info, and types of water to concentrate
on. I prefer
your report because it appears as a log of how you and your clients
fared
and what fish were actually caught on."
*If new to the fascinating sport of Fly Fishing, consider my 2012 2-Day Basic Skills Clinics...Gather a minimum of three friends or relatives & I'll tailor a clinic to your specific desires...in lieu of week-ends, mid-week only...call for a quote.
#1---- In 2012 I will make my annual trip into Chilean Patagonia near the Chilean town of Coyhaique; 1000+ miles (1260 kilometers) south of Santiago. I will "host" the week of February 4-11, 2012 at the Picacho Lodge (www.picacholodge.com). The lodge is located in an isolated river valley... access is only by a 40 minute jet-boat ride down the Rio Picacho.
Picacho Lodge accommodates
only 6 fly anglers. The stay includes
7 nights and 6 days of guided fly fishing.
Simply, it is
remote.
Any 2012 week is $6000 for two, via my
referral only;
price for one is $3500. (...you arrange flights to
Chile...plus gratuities
to the staff).
For specific information, feel free to contact me.
